Reclaim Your Time and Live With Intention

April 06, 20253 min read

Let’s be real, sis. How many times have you said, “I just don’t have time”? But what if I told you that you probably do? The issue isn’t always the lack of time – it’s how we spend it.

Here’s the truth: Your time is a reflection of your priorities. If you don’t intentionally decide how to spend it, someone or something else will. That’s why today, we’re talking about taking control with a Time Audit and aligning your hours with what truly matters to you.

Step 1: Conduct a Time Audit

Before we start shifting priorities, we need to know where your time is actually going. For one week, track everything you do from the moment you wake up until your head hits that pillow. And I

mean everything – scrolling on social media, binge-watching that latest series, all those random errands. No judgment here; we’re just gathering the facts.

At the end of the week, categorize your activities into buckets:

  • Work/Business

  • Family & Relationships

  • Health & Wellness

  • Self-Care & Personal Growth

  • Mindless or Unproductive Time

Step 2: Evaluate and Prioritize

Once you’ve got your time map, it’s decision time. Ask yourself:

  • What activities are draining me with little return?

  • Where am I overcommitting or people-pleasing?

  • What sparks joy, fulfillment, or progress?

Then, let’s break it down using the Stop, Reduce, Start framework:

  • Stop Doing: These are activities that no longer serve you. Maybe it’s mindless scrolling or constantly saying yes to things out of guilt.

  • Reduce Doing: Tasks that might be necessary but are consuming more time than they should. Think endless meetings that could’ve been an email.

  • Start Doing: What’s missing? Maybe it’s self-care, hobbies, or those long-postponed goals.

Step 3: Align with Your Values

Now that you’ve cleared some space, it’s time to fill it with what truly matters. Take a moment and ask yourself:

  • What do I value most?

  • What brings meaning and joy into my life?

  • Am I spending my time in alignment with those values?

For example, if health is important to you, where’s the time for movement or meal planning? If family is a top priority, are you making space for intentional moments with them?

Step 4: Create Your Time Strategy

Time management isn’t about squeezing productivity out of every second. It’s about creating space for what fuels you. Here are a few strategies to try:

  • Time Blocking: Dedicate specific times to focused tasks and activities.

  • Batching: Group similar tasks together to reduce mental load.

  • Setting Boundaries: Say no without guilt. Protect your time like the queen you are.

  • Leaving White Space: Every minute doesn’t need to be scheduled. Build in breathing room.

Step 5: Reflect and Adjust

This isn’t a one-and-done process. Life shifts, and so will your priorities. At the end of each month, check in. Are you living in alignment with your values? What needs to stop, reduce, or start?

Final Thoughts

You are the CEO of your life, and your time is your most valuable resource. By conducting a time audit, identifying what matters, and making intentional choices, you’ll create a life that reflects your values and brings you joy.

So, are you ready to stop surviving and start thriving? Your time is waiting for you, sis. Make it count.
